Her Story:

The marketplace moved around her in colour and sound, sunlight resting easily in her hair. She felt him before she saw him. He spoke of the city again, its promise, its future, the life he once asked her to share. Esmeralda listened, stepping close enough for hope to return to his eyes. Then she smiled, slow and certain. “I was never meant to follow.”

And just like that, she returned to her rhythm, leaving him to realise she had always belonged to herself.
